Rep. Chip Roy Press Office, representing Texas’ 21st district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently issued a series of statements on social media addressing national sovereignty, border security, and a recent tragedy involving a child.

On July 18, 2025, the press office posted a statement from Rep. Roy regarding international agreements: “The United States must never cede our sovereignty to any international entity or organization. I applaud Secretary Kennedy and Secretary Rubio for rejecting the World Health Organization’s (WHO) ill-advised International Health Regulations (IHR) amendments.”

Later that day, Roy commented on an incident involving the death of a four-year-old: “My prayers go out to the family of the four-year-old killed in this tragedy. Unfortunately, this is yet another instance where we have an illegal alien accused of taking the life of an American citizen.

On July 21, 2025, Roy addressed border security measures: “President Trump is RIGHTFULLY continuing border wall construction in the Rio Grande Valley. Congress NEEDS to pass legislation that would guarantee the border wall’s completion.”

Chip Roy has served as U.S. Representative for Texas’s 21st District since replacing Lamar Smith in 2019. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972 and currently residing in Austin, Roy holds degrees from both the University of Virginia and University of Texas-Austin.
