Rep. Chip Roy Press Office posted a series of statements on May 13, 2026, addressing the issues of fentanyl-related deaths and the influence of Islam in the United States and globally.
In one post, the office stated, “Fentanyl has been weaponized against the American people, killing tens of thousands annually. Rep. Roy’s Deal Death, Face Death Act arms federal prosecutors with a tool that matches the devastation caused by drug dealers .” (May 13, 2026).
Addressing concerns about global trends in religion and immigration policy, another post cited a media outlet: “.@DailyCaller: ‘Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy attributed the skyrocketing rise of Islamism around the world to ‘expansionist’ legal immigration policies during a Wednesday hearing on Capitol Hill. Roy laid out Islam’s growing foothold across the globe, including his home state'” (May 13, 2026).
A third statement shared remarks made during an appearance on Newsmax regarding Sharia law hearings: “Rep. Roy reacts to Sharia hearing on @NEWSMAX: ‘What we’re seeing in this political ideology is a purposeful effort to shove Islam into all corners of the United States. And it’s very simple, Islam is not compatible with Western civilization.'” (May 13, 2026).
Chip Roy currently serves as U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 21st District and has held this position since replacing Lamar Smith in 2019. He has secured re-election multiple times since then, defeating Kristin Hook in 2024 with nearly 62% of the vote.
