In a tweet posted at 21:00 UTC, Roy commented on intra-party tensions among Democrats, stating, “They’re just throwing stuff against the wall because they’re losing this fight,”.
Shortly after, at 21:09 UTC, Roy highlighted an immigration enforcement action by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), writing, “This weekend, ICE arrested a illegal alien from Mexico CONVICTED of aggravated sexual assault of a CHILD in San Antonio, Texas. Jail first. Deportation next.” He followed up with an additional post providing more information: “MORE: https://t.co/USoeizNq81”.
Chip Roy has served as the congressional representative for Texas’s 21st District since succeeding Lamar Smith in 2019. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972 and currently residing in Austin, Roy holds degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Texas-Austin.
