Rep. Chip Roy Press Office, representing Texas’ 21st district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on various situations through a series of tweets. Chip Roy has been serving since 2019, succeeding Lamar Smith. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972, Roy is now based in Austin and holds degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Texas-Austin.
On July 6, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy’s press office issued a warning about incoming rain in Kerr County and Hunt areas. The tweet urged residents to move to higher ground due to saturated ground conditions and advised them to avoid roads near waterways for safety reasons. “KERR COUNTY/HUNT Incoming: more rain inbound. Ground is saturated, please move to higher ground and get off of roads near waterways. Please be safe.”
In a subsequent tweet on July 7, 2025, Rep. Roy expressed his admiration for Texans’ resilience during challenging times. He stated: “There’s a there’s a lot of pride and the people of Texas rising to the occasion.”
Later that day, Rep. Roy provided an update on federal assistance efforts involving the FBI and DNA collection processes aimed at identifying victims following recent events. He also mentioned communication with national leaders including President Biden and Secretary Noem: “The FBI was out today helping with some of the work. We’ve got DNA collection going on to try to identify victims…. The President has been responsive. He’s reached out to me personally. The Secretary was here yesterday.”
