Rep. Chip Roy, who has represented Texas’s 21st District in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently addressed several issues through a series of social media posts. Roy, originally from Bethesda, Maryland and currently residing in Austin, often references his district and constituents in his communications.
On July 13, 2025, Rep. Roy posted about the significance of a local landmark in Kerrville: “When you drive into Kerrville, there’s an enormous cross on the hill. And if you ask me what the story of this whole tragedy is it’s the cross, and it’s the power of the cross… It is a powerful testimony to the gospel of Christ and how a community can come together”.
The following day, July 14, 2025, Roy expressed gratitude for prompt assistance he received during an unspecified incident: “I can’t thank you enough. When I called you on Friday, you said, ‘whatever you need’ … I’ve never seen such a quick response and such a focus on delivering for the people.”
Later that same day, Roy commented on recent actions by federal authorities regarding immigration enforcement and child labor concerns: “DHS arrested 361 illegal aliens as well as rescued over a dozen minors from a marijuana farm suspected of abusing children through labor exploitation. Our great DHS agents deserve gratitude for their courage and commitment to securing our homeland.”
Chip Roy was born in 1972 and graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in 1994 before earning his JD from the University of Texas-Austin in 2003. He succeeded Lamar Smith as representative for Texas’s 21st District.
