Rep. Chip Roy, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district, has recently shared several statements via social media concerning ongoing efforts and community support in response to a recent event affecting families in his constituency.
On July 5, 2025, Rep. Roy expressed determination and hope amidst ongoing challenges, stating “We’re all here knowing that we’re still have work to do. We’re still prayerful, we’re still hopeful… Now we just got to finish the job and be with the people and importantly, pray for the families who have lost their loved ones.”
In a subsequent post on July 6, 2025, he reiterated his sentiments of prayer and optimism for those affected by the situation. He mentioned “We’re just praying for the families, particularly those still missing… but we remain hopeful and optimistic that there’s some miracles left.”
Later that day, Rep. Roy acknowledged the overwhelming support from across the country and particularly highlighted local efforts in Texas. He conveyed gratitude by saying “Thank you for all the prayers. Thanks for everybody across the country have reached out. It’s been overwhelming. The response here in Texas has been extraordinary. People wanting to volunteer, people getting in their cars and just showing up to come down to Kerrville.”
Chip Roy was born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972 and currently resides in Austin. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS degree in 1994 and later earned a JD from the University of Texas-Austin in 2003.
