Rep. Chip Roy Press Office posted a series of statements on April 10, 2026, detailing Rep. Chip Roy’s views on the relationship between Marxism and Islamism and his legislative efforts targeting the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
In a post at 14:25 UTC, Roy stated: “The Red-Green alliance is not new, right? The intersection between Marxism and Islamism.
We’ve got CAIR. We’ve got the Muslim Brotherhood. We’ve got organizations in Texas. We’ve got what’s happening in Minneapolis. Islam is on the march and moving in real time.” This statement highlights his concerns about perceived alliances among certain ideological groups and organizations.
Later that day at 15:09 UTC, another post cited Just The News and announced proposed legislation: “.@JustTheNews: Chip Roy introduces legislation to label CAIR as a ‘specially designated global terrorist’
‘No organization that aids terrorism should financially benefit from it, especially on U.S. soil.'”
At 16:29 UTC, a further post referenced support from the Middle East Forum: “Roy’s legislation represents the most serious congressional effort to designate CAIR to date and follows decades of MEF research and activism aimed at exposing CAIR’s extremism and links to foreign terrorist organizations.” @meforum
