Rep. Chip Roy Press Office shared a series of statements on April 29, 2026, addressing concerns about government surveillance, the influence of nonprofits and NGOs in politics, and immigration policy.

In one post, Rep. Roy questioned the growing integration of surveillance technology in vehicles: “Why do we want to put the ability for Big Brother, whether it’s corporate or government or both, to be in your car, monitoring your actions, recording your conversations?” (April 29, 2026).

After a FACE Act hearing later that day, he commented on the role of certain organizations in American politics: “This is a part of the overall effort we need to do to root out the NGO’s and nonprofits that are directly working with Democrats to undermine our way of life.” (April 29, 2026).

Discussing his proposed MAMDANI Act in another statement on April 29, Rep. Roy said: “We’re a sovereign nation. We can decide who we let into our country. We can decide who gets naturalized, and if you got naturalized under false pretenses or if you got naturalized and then you want to go after America and undermine our way of life,”.

Chip Roy is currently serving as U.S. Congressman for Texas’s 21st District—a position he has held since replacing Lamar Smith in 2019. He has consistently won re-election since then; most recently in 2024 against Kristin Hook with nearly 62% of the vote. His previous victories include defeating Claudia Zapata in 2022 and Wendy Davis in 2020.
