Lloyd Doggett, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 37th district, has raised concerns on social media about health care reimbursement practices, federal education funding, and corporate consolidation in the health sector.
On July 22, 2025, Doggett stated that “Hospitals risk closure and patients lose access to care because Medicare DisAdvantage plans cheat our health care systems by not reimbursing what’s truly owed for services provided. Along with @RepGregMurphy, I’ve introduced a bill to fix this.”
A day later, on July 23, 2025, he commented on federal education policy: “To undermine our public schools, Trump is withholding billions of federal education funds that Congress previously approved. House Republicans are letting him get away with it. Now, 100+ @AustinISD jobs are directly at risk.”
Later that same day, Doggett addressed corporate acquisitions in health care: “.@UnitedHealthGrp is seeking monopoly control over health care through systematically purchasing a wide range of health companies, providers, pharmacies, and more, now more than 2,700 entities according to @cforhd. @RepGregMurphy and I are calling for a GAO investigation into”
Doggett has represented Texas’s 37th District in the U.S. Congress since 1995 after serving in the Texas Senate from 1973 to 1985. He was born in Austin in 1946 and currently resides there. Doggett holds both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
