Lloyd Doggett, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 37th district since 1995, recently posted a series of critical tweets addressing political and international issues.
On April 2, 2026, Doggett commented on the departure of Pam Bondi from her position, stating: “Good riddance to Pam Bondi, who weaponized the DOJ against Trump’s political enemies and continuously ignored the law to protect the Epstein class from accountability with her botched release of the files. The following day, April 3, Doggett addressed U.S. foreign policy and its impact on Russia’s economy: “Putin is making a killing—literally a killing—thanks to Trump’s sanctions relief & reckless war spike of oil prices. Doggett has represented Texas’s 37th District in Congress since replacing J.J. Pickle in 1995 and previously served in the Texas Senate from 1973 to 1985. He was born in Austin in 1946 and continues to reside there. Doggett earned both his BA (1967) and JD (1970) from the University of Texas at Austin.
In recent elections, Doggett defeated Jenny Garcia Sharon by wide margins: in 2024 with over 74% of the vote and similarly strong results in previous cycles.
