There were 968 students enrolled in Lackland ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 6.3% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50% of them were girls, and 50% were boys.

The most represented ethnicity among Lackland ISD students was white, accounting for 45% of the student population.

Lackland ISD roughly covers schools within Bexar County with its main office in San Antonio.

Among the two schools in Lackland ISD, Lackland Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 589 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
