Greg Casar, a U.S. Congressman representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media about recent political events involving the Republican Party and former President Donald Trump. Born in Houston in 1989, Casar currently resides in Austin and holds a BA from the University of Virginia.

On May 14, 2025, Casar commented on a hearing held by Republicans regarding gender identity in college fencing. He contrasted this with what he perceives as their lack of action following Donald Trump’s alleged acceptance of a $400 million bribe from a foreign government. “Last week Republicans held a hearing on gender identity in college fencing, but as soon as Donald Trump accepts a $400 million bribe from a foreign government House Republicans discover the phrase ‘not my lane.'”

Later that day, Casar addressed reports of Trump’s sons’ activities in the Middle East. He stated that they have been laying groundwork for business deals that could benefit both their company and Trump himself during his travels to the region. Casar described these actions as “Corruption, plain and simple.” “While Trump travels to the Middle East, his sons ‘have spent the past few weeks crisscrossing the Middle East, laying the groundwork for deals that will benefit the company and, in some instances, Trump himself.’

On May 15, 2025, Casar called for an investigation into Attorney General Bondi concerning potential insider trading activities. He claimed that “A culture of corruption has infected the Republican Party,” asserting that Americans deserve transparency and answers regarding these allegations. “We need an investigation into whether Attorney General Bondi engaged in insider trading.”

Greg Casar’s statements reflect ongoing concerns about political ethics and accountability within certain factions of American politics.
