Congressman Greg Casar, who has represented Texas’s 35th District in the U.S. Congress since 2023, recently addressed several issues through a series of posts on social media. Casar, who succeeded Lloyd Doggett and resides in Austin, used his platform to comment on immigration enforcement practices, federal disaster response, and the impact of tax policy on energy costs.
On July 14, 2025, Casar criticized recent immigration enforcement actions. He stated: “People deported in violation of court orders. Kids deported while undergoing life-saving treatment. ICE at schools and churches. This isn’t ‘law and order.’ This is chaos. And it puts all of our rights at risk.”
Later that day, Casar commented on the federal response to a disaster situation in Texas. In a post dated July 14, 2025, he wrote: “Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem delayed FEMA search and rescue by 72 hours. Approving that shouldn’t take longer than 72 seconds. Texans deserve answers.”
In another post from July 14, 2025, Casar discussed the economic impact of tax policy changes enacted during Donald Trump’s presidency. He stated: “Every American should know they will pay more for electricity to cover Trump’s billionaire tax cuts → https://t.co/HGIy8zp1Xd”
Greg Casar was born in Houston in 1989 and graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in 2011.
