Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, has recently shared his views on social media regarding health care and tax policies. In a series of tweets, Casar criticizes the Republican party’s actions concerning healthcare and Medicaid cuts.
On May 13, 2025, Congressman Casar tweeted about the Republicans’ decision to remove healthcare from millions of Americans. He stated, “While Republicans vote to kick 13 million Americans off their health care, Trump is jetting around on luxury planes to dine with billionaires.”
The following day, May 14, he expressed concern over the lack of public support for cutting Medicaid. In his words, “There’s not a single congressional district where more than 15% of Americans want to cut Medicaid. Yet 100% of House Republicans are trying to cut Medicaid. They’re not representing the people. They’re trying to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.” This tweet reflects his stance against what he perceives as a misalignment between public interest and legislative actions.
Later that same day, he emphasized his commitment to opposing these plans in another tweet saying, “Good morning run. Now back to fighting the GOP plan to kick 13 million Americans off their health care.”
Greg Casar was born in Houston in 1989 and currently resides in Austin. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011.
