Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, recently shared his thoughts and upcoming plans on social media. Casar, who succeeded Lloyd Doggett in Congress, has been vocal about healthcare issues and community engagement.
On May 16, 2025, Congressman Casar addressed a recent legislative development via social media. He stated that “Republicans just lost a crucial vote because some want to kick even MORE Americans off their healthcare.” He questioned the priorities of “moderate” Republicans by asking whether they prefer “tax cuts for billionaires, or healthcare for Americans?” Casar emphasized that the fight over healthcare policy is ongoing and urged continued advocacy efforts.
The following day, May 17, 2025, Congressman Casar invited constituents to an Austin Town Hall scheduled for May 24 at 3 PM. In his announcement, he mentioned that he would be available to answer questions regarding Medicaid, Social Security, and Medicare. He encouraged participation by stating “Join me for an Austin Town Hall on May 24 at 3PM!” and provided a link for RSVPs.
In another post on the same day, Congressman Casar acknowledged the support of various organizations in making the upcoming Town Hall possible. He expressed gratitude towards several state and local groups including @Tx4TARA, @TexasAFLCIO, @TXAdapt among others. His message read: “Next week’s Town Hall would not be possible without the support of some amazing state and local organizations.”
Greg Casar was born in Houston in 1989 and currently resides in Austin. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011.
