Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, has taken to social media to express his concerns about various political and environmental issues. Born in Houston, Texas, in 1989, Casar graduated from the University of Virginia in 2011 and currently resides in Austin.
On May 11, 2025, Congressman Casar highlighted the increasing severity of climate conditions with a tweet stating “Summers are hotter. Winters are colder. Extreme weather is more and more common. Our planet’s future is on the line.” He criticized former President Donald Trump’s decision to halt tracking the costs of natural disasters, suggesting it was done to fund tax cuts for billionaires.
Later that day, he shared a concern raised by Ms. Moore, an experienced public educator worried about potential cuts to Social Security proposed by Trump and Elon Musk. In his tweet “Isn’t that outrageous?”, Casar mentioned her long-standing career in education and her call to his office expressing these concerns.
On May 12, 2025, Casar tweeted about a dinner event attended by Trump for top tech and crypto donors where attendees paid $1.5 million per plate. He commented on the disparity between the wealthy attendees and ordinary citizens by stating “The ultra-wealthy get a literal feast & special access to the president. Working people don’t even get crumbs.”
Greg Casar continues to voice his perspectives as he serves in Congress following Lloyd Doggett’s tenure.
