Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media regarding recent legislative developments. His tweets address concerns over the potential impacts of a budget bill associated with former President Trump.

On July 1, 2025, Congressman Casar tweeted about the implications of Trump’s budget bill. He claimed that “16+ million people could lose health care,” and highlighted that health care costs would increase, energy bills would rise, and families would face higher food expenses. He attributed these changes to tax cuts for billionaires and urged followers to share this information.

The following day, July 2, 2025, Casar directed his attention toward fellow Congressman Gabe Evans. In a tweet, he noted that “.@RepGabeEvans is about to vote on whether to kick millions of Americans off health care.” Casar criticized Evans for not holding town halls and shared his visit to Evans’ office where he read aloud from a constituent’s letter detailing the severe consequences of losing Medicaid.

On July 3, 2025, Casar further expressed his disapproval of the bill by stating that it “is a betrayal of working Americans.” He argued that while billionaires might benefit by purchasing larger yachts, millions of working individuals could struggle with affording healthcare, basic necessities like food or maintaining utilities.

Greg Casar was born in Houston in 1989 and currently resides in Austin. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 2011 with a Bachelor’s degree.
