Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district, has been vocal on social media regarding recent actions by the Trump administration. In a series of tweets, Casar expressed his concerns about the treatment of political figures and the broader implications for American citizens.
On June 12, 2025, Casar posted “This is outrageous, and we need answers.” He questioned the treatment of a United States senator by the Trump administration while cameras were present, urging people to consider how ordinary citizens might be treated under similar circumstances.
Later that day, at 19:35 UTC, he shared another tweet stating, “I tried to summarize Trump’s reckless approach to immigration in 90 seconds.” He criticized the administration’s approach as chaotic rather than lawful or orderly.
In a subsequent post at 20:38 UTC on June 12, Casar commented on an incident involving Senator Padilla. He tweeted “If Sen. Padilla can be thrown to the ground and arrested for speaking up, then anyone can.” He emphasized the importance of fighting for Americans’ right to free speech without fear of arrest under what he described as Trump’s regime.
Greg Casar has served in Congress since replacing Lloyd Doggett in 2023. Born in Houston in 1989 and currently residing in Austin, he graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in 2011.
