Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district, has been vocal on various issues through his social media posts. Serving in Congress since 2023 after replacing Lloyd Doggett, Casar often addresses matters concerning fiscal policies and international affairs.
On June 4, 2025, Casar raised concerns about the Trump administration’s tax policies in a tweet. He pointed out that Trump’s Education Secretary Linda McMahon’s family possesses significant wealth amounting to $3.2 billion. According to Casar, the administration is attempting to provide her with a substantial tax cut financed by reductions in Medicaid and food assistance programs. He questioned McMahon on her need for such financial benefits but stated she refused to respond.
In another post dated June 5, 2025, Congressman Casar criticized former President Trump for being influenced by wealthy individuals and opposed proposed billionaire tax cuts. He also targeted Elon Musk as part of this group of “corrupt billionaires” and expressed opposition to the GOP budget which he claims would result in millions losing their healthcare coverage.
Later on June 5, Casar addressed international military aid in a tweet, advocating for halting arms supplies to Israel amid ongoing violence in Gaza. His statement called for an end to what he described as massacres occurring in the region.
Greg Casar was born in Houston, Texas in 1989 and currently resides in Austin. A graduate of the University of Virginia with a BA obtained in 2011, he continues his legislative work focusing on both domestic policy changes and international humanitarian issues.
