Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, recently took to social media to express his views on recent actions by Republican politicians. Born in Houston in 1989 and currently residing in Austin, Casar has been vocal about his political stance.

On July 6, 2025, Casar tweeted about a vote by Republican politicians that he claims will have significant repercussions for American healthcare. He stated, “Don’t let Republicans in Congress try to lie, distract, or confuse. Republican politicians just voted to strip health care from 17 million Americans — to give more tax cuts to billionaires. They all knew the truth. They all lied anyway:”.

In a subsequent tweet posted on the same day, Casar succinctly commented on the situation with “This was a lie.”, providing a link for further context.

He reiterated this sentiment in another post made at the same time, once again stating “This was a lie.”.

Greg Casar is serving his term following Lloyd Doggett’s tenure and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia, obtained in 2011.
