Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media regarding healthcare policies and political dynamics in the United States. Casar, who succeeded Lloyd Doggett, uses his platform to critique Republican approaches to healthcare and other issues.

On June 2, 2025, Congressman Casar expressed concern over Republican healthcare strategies by stating that “No one wants to lose their health care. House Republicans want to kick people off their healthcare.” This comment reflects ongoing debates over healthcare access and policy reforms.

The following day, June 3, 2025, he addressed financial priorities within the government by pointing out that “Oops! One of Trump’s billionaire buddies just accidentally told the truth. Republican politicians can call it ‘reform.’ They can keep trying to lie. But every Republican in Congress wants to cut Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for billionaires. And every American should know it.” His remarks suggest a criticism of proposed Medicaid cuts linked to tax benefits for wealthy individuals.

Later on June 3, Casar critiqued former President Donald Trump’s actions during his presidency with a post saying “Donald Trump started off this presidency by seating billionaires ahead of his own cabinet at inauguration. Then he pardoned Jan. 6th rioters who attacked cops and members of Congress. From day one, Trump is showing exactly who he serves — and who he’s willing to leave behind.” These comments highlight perceived preferential treatment towards affluent supporters and controversial decisions during Trump’s tenure.

Greg Casar was born in Houston in 1989 and currently resides in Austin. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011.
