Congressman Greg Casar, who represents Texas’ 35th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of tweets on July 16, 2025, criticizing the influence of corporate interests and political leaders on working Americans.

Later that day at 20:16 UTC, he questioned government funding for artificial intelligence projects linked to Elon Musk. Casar wrote, “Just last week, Elon Musk’s AI called itself MechaHitler. Why are we giving it $200 million taxpayer dollars?”

At 21:16 UTC on the same day, Casar addressed broader economic concerns affecting American workers. He tweeted, “Americans are getting screwed by corrupt politicians and big corporations that are driving up costs while keeping pay and benefits down. Our new @USProgressives task forces are focused on solving exactly those problems.”

Greg Casar has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Lloyd Doggett. Born in Houston in 1989 and currently residing in Austin, Casar graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in 2011.
