Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district, shared a series of posts on X on April 17th and 18th, 2025. Casar, who succeeded Lloyd Doggett in 2023, is actively engaging with his constituency by discussing public matters and policy criticisms.

On April 17, Casar invited constituents to join him for a town hall meeting in San Antonio. The event is scheduled for April 19 at 9:30 AM. Casar stated, “Join me for a San Antonio Town Hall on April 19 at 9:30AM! I want to hear from you. Let’s talk about how we can work together to protect our communities. Sign up to receive details at: https://t.co/QKv7C4Veon”. The town hall aims to facilitate discussions about safeguarding local communities.

In a separate post on April 17, Casar criticized former President Trump’s actions regarding immigration and law enforcement. He wrote, “Trump said he would go after ‘bad guys.’ Instead he has: – Sent people never accused of a crime to a prison camp in El Salvador and defied court orders to bring them back – Deported a 10-year-old US citizen with brain cancer – Took law enforcement away from chasing down gun”. The congressman suggested that Trump’s policies have not focused on their intended targets and have involved questionable enforcement actions.

On April 18, Casar addressed the influence of pharmaceutical companies on Trump’s administration. His post highlighted, “Big Pharma gives millions to Trump’s campaign and his inauguration slush fund. Trump pays them back with an executive order that slows down Medicare negotiating prescription drugs. Trump gets paid. Corporations get richer. Working Americans get screwed. Corruption, plain and”. Casar pointed to an executive order that, according to his post, hinders the negotiation of drug prices and benefits corporations while disadvantaging American citizens.

Greg Casar, 33, was born in Houston, Texas, and now resides in Austin. He graduated with a BA from the University of Virginia in 2011.
