Congressman Greg Casar recently shared a series of statements and calls for action on social media. Addressing issues ranging from political donations to public welfare, Casar’s messages highlight concerns about economic inequality and ethical governance. This comes amid his term representing Texas’ 35th District, succeeding Lloyd Doggett in 2023.

On April 12, 2025, Casar commented on the political donations made by Apple CEO Tim Cook to former President Donald Trump. According to Casar, “Apple CEO Tim Cook gave Trump $1 million for his inauguration. So while working families pay more, Apple gets special treatment. Trump gets bribes. Billionaires get special treatment. Working people get screwed.”

Later that day, Casar brought attention to the impact of proposed Medicaid cuts by sharing Eric’s story, an Austin resident with muscular dystrophy. Casar quoted Eric’s concerns: “You can tell a lot about a country by how it treats its most vulnerable people.” Casar expressed the significance of the call Eric had made to his office to highlight the potential consequences of these cuts on individuals like Eric.

Finally, Casar called for an investigation into the financial gains linked to Trump’s tariff policy declarations. He noted on April 12, 2025, “We need an investigation into who made money off Trump’s tariff announcements. A culture of corruption has infected the Republican Party. Americans deserve answers.”

Casar has been an active voice in Congress and his district, Texas’ 35th, since 2023, following his education at the University of Virginia and previous endeavors. Casar’s constituents rely on his advocacy amid growing concerns over economic and political integrity issues.
