Congressman Greg Casar, representing Texas’ 35th district since 2023, has shared his thoughts on recent events through a series of tweets. Casar, who replaced Lloyd Doggett in Congress and is a University of Virginia alumnus, has been vocal about issues affecting various communities.
On June 2, 2025, Casar expressed his dismay over an antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado. He stated “I am horrified by the antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado. My thoughts are with the victims, their families, and Jewish communities across the country.”
Later that day, Casar criticized former President Donald Trump for his actions against immigrants and American citizens. In his tweet posted at 19:14 UTC, he claimed “Trump is not just attacking immigrants — he’s threatening the basic rights of all Americans. Trump has sent innocent people to foreign prisons, he’s deporting students for writing opinion pieces, and now he’s arresting San Antonio families who are legally making their case.”
In another tweet posted at 20:00 UTC on the same day during Pride Month celebrations, Casar highlighted the ongoing fight for equality. He tweeted “This Pride Month, we celebrate a simple truth: hate has no home here. From Texas to D.C., our movement for equality is growing. Let’s build a future where every queer and trans person is safe, where workers have power, and where love and dignity beat hate and greed.”
Greg Casar was born in Houston in 1989 and currently resides in Austin.
