Today, Congressman Tony Gonzales introduced a House Resolution in honor of Gregg Popovich, the retiring head coach of the San Antonio Spurs. Coach Popovich holds the record for the most wins by any coach in NBA history.

Congressman Gonzales highlighted Coach Popovich’s achievements: “The most wins of any coach in NBA history, five NBA championships, four-time NBA All-Star Game Head Coach, three-time NBA Coach of the Year, and an Olympic gold medal—Coach Pop is not only a San Antonio legend but a pillar of America’s greatness in athletics.” He expressed pride as a lifelong fan and noted that Coach Popovich will be recognized as “El Jefe” in Congress.
