Congressman Greg Casar, a representative of Texas’ 35th district since 2023, recently made a series of controversial statements via Twitter. Casar, born in Houston, Texas, and an alumnus of the University of Virginia, addressed concerns ranging from potential corruption at the presidential level to national security issues involving major corporations.
In a tweet dated May 3, 2025, Casar urged, “Pay attention to this: Trump has set up a way he can directly take bribes from foreign governments or billionaires. Every American needs to know about it.” This message implied allegations against former President Trump regarding the acceptance of financial inducements.
Later on the same day, May 3, Casar tweeted about workplace safety concerns, “Across the aisle and from all backgrounds, Americans overwhelmingly want heat protections in the workplace. But Trump’s nominee to lead @OSHA_DOL used to work at Amazon and UPS — where workers have suffered and died from extreme heat.” He criticized the nominee for having ties to companies with reported heat-related worker fatalities.
On May 4, Casar raised alarm over national security breaches, “Staffers for Elon Musk’s DOGE were given access to classified details about our nuclear weapons. It’s the same agency where DOGE fired hundreds of workers in February — and had to immediately rehire them. Protect our national security. Fire Elon Musk.” He called for action against Elon Musk, accusing his company of mishandling sensitive information and workforce mismanagement.
Greg Casar has been a prominent political figure since succeeding Lloyd Doggett in Congress. He resides in Austin, Texas, and has been vocal about issues he perceives as threats to democratic integrity and worker safety.
