Rep. Chip Roy Press Office, the official communication channel for Congressman Chip Roy, recently shared several statements on social media addressing Medicaid and military issues. Rep. Roy has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 21st district since 2019.
On June 3, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy’s office posted a statement regarding a new study on Medicaid recipients. The post claimed that common activities for unemployed Medicaid recipients include watching TV, playing video games, and sleeping. It emphasized that “Medicaid was intended to assist vulnerable populations like the disabled — not Americans who REFUSE to go to work.” The post concluded with a call to “REFORM Medicaid.”
Following this, another tweet from the same date provided additional information with a link labeled “MORE.”
Later that day, Rep. Chip Roy’s office shared an optimistic update about the military, stating: “Good news.” The message expressed approval of recent changes by stating: “This is what happens when you remove all the WOKE GARBAGE from our military and FOCUS on WARFIGHTING.” It concluded by asserting “America’s military is back.”
Chip Roy was born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972 and currently resides in Austin. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas-Austin in 2003.
