Rep. Chip Roy Press Office has been vocal on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Representing Texas’ 21st district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, Roy’s office has addressed topics ranging from law enforcement to energy policies.

On June 18, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy Press Office tweeted about an incident involving law enforcement and an illegal alien. The tweet stated: “An illegal alien that is a registered CHILD SEX OFFENDER attempted to evade law enforcement and dragged an ICE officer 50 yards with his car.” The post further mentioned that attacks on ICE agents have increased by over 400% compared to under President Biden.

On June 20, 2025, Rep. Chip Roy shared his stance on energy policies within legislative proposals through a tweet stating: “Rep. Roy on Green New Scam in the Big Beautiful Bill: ‘They either fix it or they don’t have my vote… The president rightly campaigned on terminating the Green New Scam subsidies. It’s destroying our grid. It’s subsidizing China.'”

In another tweet posted shortly after, also on June 20, he referenced a Politico article regarding his views on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). He wrote: “.@politico: ‘Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas), the policy chair of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, wrote on X early Monday that the “IRA needs to be terminated as President Trump said.’ END ALL THE GREEN NEW SCAM SUBSIDIES.”

Roy has been serving Texas’ 21st District since replacing Lamar Smith in 2019. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972, he now resides in Austin and holds degrees from both the University of Virginia and University of Texas-Austin.
