Rep. Chip Roy Press Office, representing Texas’ 21st district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, recently shared his views on immigration and law enforcement through a series of tweets. Born in Bethesda, Maryland in 1972, Roy has been vocal about his stance on these issues.
On June 9, 2025, Rep. Roy expressed concern over ICE immigration officers stranded in Djibouti. He stated, “I want these judges to have to step up. They issue their orders. They sit behind their desk with a pen.” He further suggested that judges should personally assess the situations they influence by visiting locations like Djibouti.
Later that day, he commented on the dedication of ICE officers amidst challenges of lawlessness and disorder. He emphasized the importance of accountability by stating, “Holding lawbreakers accountable – illegal aliens or rioters – will END this mayhem.”
On June 10, 2025, Rep. Roy addressed reactions from progressive Democrats regarding ICE’s arrests of individuals involved in serious crimes such as murder and drug trafficking. He asserted that “Our immigration laws must be ENFORCED, regardless of leftist ‘outrage’.”
Chip Roy graduated from the University of Virginia with a BS in 1994 and earned a JD from the University of Texas-Austin in 2003. Currently residing in Austin at age 50, he continues to serve his constituents while addressing national issues.
